Study Mismatch

I am from electrical and electronics background(EEE) pursuing my final year of B.Tech planning for sept'12(aggregate 70.2 till date, 6.5bands in IELTS, 4 backlogs). If i apply for Electro-mechanical design(co-op) in seneca college(graduate certificate - 1 year), Will it be a study mismatch ?
