Dear All,

I’m 41 years old with MBA from UK, planning to study PhD in Canada, before that I have some enquiries as follow:-

1. When I can get work permit after getting enrolled in a program.

2. What kind of work I can do after getting the work permit?

3. I'm married with three kids, can I get a visa for my family with the student visa?

4. If yes/ can the kids be enrolled in public schools?

5. Can my wife get permission to work during my study visa?

6. Can I get a driving license under student visa?, is it easy and how much time it will take?

7. Can I open a business with the student visa? Own a property?

8. Can after opening the business sponsor myself for work visa?

9. Is my age suitable to get a resident permit (PR) after graduation?

Appreciate your feedback !

Kind regards,

Sejoon

1. You'll be able to work up to 20 hours off campus while you study. You can start as soon as your studies begin.
2. Pretty much anything.
3. You don't say what passports your family holds. Short answer is that they can apply but there is no guarantee of approval.
4. If they are approved, yes.
5. She can apply, but again, no guarantee of approval.
6. Yes, you can get a license.
7. Typically you can only open a business if you have a Canadian partner. Yes, you can buy a property.
8. Typically no.
9. Your age will be a disadvantage for a number of immigration programs. Express Entry awards points for age and you will certainly loose points as a result of of your age.
