I had applyed for Economics at McGill, got in thankfully and then got the visa soon after. Will never forget how helpful this forum was though. Make use of all the advice people here give you, there is truly no other place that can guide you this well.

Also, make sure the place you choose is really the one you plan to make a life in or atleast live long term. Better to be happy then anything else long term.
