Hi!
I was issued a student visa on my old passport, and the visa is expiring in April 2018. I was not able to use it because I lost my placement due to the course filling up before I even found out I was approved for the visa.
I was thinking of taking of taking a different course with a January 2018 intake instead, I have since renewed my passport and while looking at the document that was sent to me when my visa was approved it says:
"If you are from a country/territory which requires a temporary resident visa (TRV), you have also been issued a visa. This visa has been affixed in your passport and is valid for multiple visits to Canada until it expires. If you obtain a new passport before your visa expires, you will need to apply for a new visa."
I'm from the Philippines, so does that mean that my visa in my old passport is now useless since I have a new passport?
