I got my admission from a university in Montreal and my CAQ also. Since june 14 2012 I dropped off my file in Canada embassy in New York and I never received an answer. I sent them many emails without feedback. I am worried since I have already booked my flight for August 13. In the website, the application is supposed to take 6 weeks.
Im planning to go to the embassy next week but I don't know if it is a good idea. Can someone helps me with that issue please?
Any proposition is also welcome.
Thank you in advance

Hi,

You can send them Case Specific Enquiry thru this link https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/cicemail/intro-eng.aspx?mission=new york to ask about the status of your applications. Make sure to fill-up the form completely with your fullname, birthdate, File Number or Client ID#.

Good luck :)

Hi thanks for your suggestion but when I clicked on the link, i followed the step and then when it came to the part that I have to insert the characters, I did it and another page showed up with runtime error so I don't really know what to do...

Hi,

Try to use Mozilla Firefox instead of Internet Explorer, I had the same problem before.

Good Luck :)

Hi, I did it but even with Mozilla I got the same thing...
I am planning to go to New York embassy on Thursday if I did not get any answer from them before... Did you think it is a good idea?
Also one of my friend told me that they will obligatory ask me medical exam is that true?

Hi,

As far as I know student visa & work permit applications are only allowed to submit through mail, only visitors visa applicants are allowed to entertain in-person. Well you can try to go to NYC embassy though just bring a copy of your documents especially your passport. I suggest you should come in the morning 8:00-10:30 a.m to find out your student visa status then they will instruct you to come back in the afternoon between 1:00-2:30 p.m. if you're lucky to have your visa approved.

It's just my 2 cents...I just read on the other thread it's possible but their application is for visitor's visa. There's no harm in trying.

Good luck & Keep me posted :)

Hi, Thanks for your answer definitely I will update my status... But did you know if they will obligatory ask me for medical exams? I have booked my flight for next monday and I am stressed.. Thanks
