Hi All,

Sorry to start a new topic but after going through all topics I could not relate to my question. I am looking to go to Canada for studies and need some advice on how to roll things. I have listed my background below.

Currently in London on a PSW dependant visa with my wife who studied her MBA here, our visa runs out in june 2012 (Indian Citizens)

I have done only 12 years of formal education in India and I am planning to do a undergraduate course in Canada.

Cannot spend a lot of money on course fees at the moment but still want to study.

I have a lot of experience working for good organizations and would be wanting to study Business Management or related.

Please let me know what is the best and smartest step forward as I want to go directly from here with my wife to continue my career goal. it will also help if guidance is provided on fees, living cost and visas as my wife wants to work there while I study.

Thanks all

Since money may be an issue, I'd recommend you start by investigating what the international student fees are for some of the programs/schools you're interested in (international student fees are significantly higher than those for domestic students). You should be able to find this information on school web sites.

To be approved for a student visa to study in Canada, you'll need to show a bank balance covering first year tuition fees + $10K living expenses + travel costs.

Please tell if the course length is 2 or 3 years, how much finance we need to show? Just one year Or 2 or 3 times of annual cost.

You need to show first year tuition, plus one year's living expenses, plus travel costs. So just your expenses for the first year.

Thanks for the kind response. Regards,

@ SCYLLA thanks for your prompt response..I have been indeed looking at a few options and reading the forums and what I have realised that looking at my age and the long gap in my education I should join a university only which and this will prove that I really want to study..can you also suggest if there are any cost effective courses or areas or provinces that I can start off with as I cannot show lot of money as I have been in the U.K only 3 years. Also what session shall I look at as my visa here is valid for limited time and what shall be the approx time lines.. Is it true that even if the course is 2 yrs I can only show full funding just for the 1st year?....Thanks a lot everyone
