My son holds an Australian passport that has just been renewed and his student visa expired as it was valid the same time as his old passport. He has applied for an extention of his student visa with his new passport as soon as he got his new passport but he has not received a replyhis student visa has now expired

Yes he did, as soon as his australian passport was issued because he needed his new passport number before he could apply for extention. Thank you for replying, he is soo worried and exams are coming up, i dont want him to be stressed about his visa too..

As long as he applied for the study permit extension BEFORE his previous study permit expired, he has Implied Status and is fine.
