I applied for a student permit and a SOWP from Japan (Manila IRCC has jurisdiction ) on April 6th 2023.
I applied through an immigration lawyer with premedicals, police certificates, 1 year paid tuition, and still it shows on the tracker that my application is still “in progress”.
When I click on the status it shows as.
Biometrics completed (from previous application)
Medical: Not started
Eligibility: Not started
Background check : in progress.
It’s been like this since April 28th, and I have tried to reach out through my lawyers, webforms, ATIP request and even wrote a letter to the MP of where my university is located.
No answer to anything yet, no communication from the IRCC on my application, I feel like they are just neglecting my application on purpose.
Should I defer my studies or should I wait a bit longer to see if I get it before September 6th?
