Student Permit rejected for flying training(already have a private pilot license

HEY.
i am planning to pursue my commercial pilot training course in canada,i already have a FAA private pilot license..with 120 hours of flying experience....and i am doing BBA in aviation(distance learning) from annamalai university..i am in the final year..and is left with just one exam...i was rejected a visa on the grounds that i won't be coming back to india because the course that i have opted for is not in sync with my previous studies...i really can't get it...i mean which of my previous studies do they think are not in sync with the coomercial pilot course???i have completed my DGCA exams...which are the conversion exams that i need to clear before getting an indian license..i have the transport canada medical done...i have already registered my self on pilottraining.ca....to receive online ground school for my canadian conversion...my course fees is CAD$25000-30000...and my parents are funding me with the combined assets of (CAD$60000) i have somewhere around 2 lakhs in my account...and my immovable property is worth (CAD $1,900,000)approx...i have all the funding and i have no clue why they have rejected me for that reason..i hope someone can help me out...it is about my career...help me out fellas...

I'm in Pakistan, not India, so I'm not sure about your situation. Are you sure that's the only reason for rejection that they gave? Because it doesn't really make sense.

Again, one thing that you should try to include in your application is a letter of recommendation from a potential employer in India. If you can show something like that, it'll definitely strengthen your ties to your home country.

No one will give a letter of appointment before I am done with my training..and yes this is the only answer they have ticked in the form they have sent me...it doesn't really make sense to me..any idea how can i show that I an a genuine student..and have strong ties with my home country..I am planing to attach all the documents stating that how much indian aviation is growing ..and how airlines are expandingono dis itself needs 12000 pilots by the end of 2016..and the passenger growth..and will attach the web links showing the same..do you think that can help??

2005-passed 12th
2006-passed 1 year BBA aviation
2006-2007-broke my ankle in an accident..was planning to go for flying training..but couldn't..was medically unfit
2007-2nd year passed
2008-cleared both Indian medical and went for flying
May 2009-returned..
May 2009-dec 2009-applied for dgca computer number..came out in october..but couldnt give the exam because it was too late
Jan 2010-2011..took dgca ground school..cleared all the exam..

Just a letter from a past or prospective employer saying that you will be *considered* for employment after completing this program, and that it will enhance your chances of employment in your home country. It's more like a letter of recommendation saying, "This person has talent and should be given the opportunity to pursue this program. We will be looking for individuals like him/her in the near future. This program will enhance their opportunities to serve their home country." Etc. Etc. Something like that.

You can also mention the details of this in your Statement of Purpose.

I fear that they will issue me such a letter...but I will still try..the documents that I have submitted are:-
1.letter of acceptance
2.cover letter
3.school marksheet,undergrad marksheet..
4.flying hours,FAA license
5.aviation medical from 3 countries..India,Canada,US..
6.statement made by charted accountant regarding movable and immovable property
7.income tax return of parents
8.property valuation documents
9.Bank statement of all the accounts

I am not sure about the letter you are telling me about..anything else I can do except that..the reason of denial is stated in one sentence saying"the Vo thinks I will not leave Canada because my proposed study is not in light with my previous study,employment,level of establishment,other educational opportunities available in India or Canada,language abilities,or your future prospects and plans" these are the exact words..

No brother..I have not worked in India yet..my gf's uncle(mausa ji)is deputy director general of civil aviation
of India...DGCA is the governing authority of aviation in India..everything related to aviation is supervised by them..I can ask him to write a letter that they need students like me for the future of Indian aviation and about the requirements of pilots in India..what say??and about the statement if purpose,you are talking about cover letter??huh..i will finish my cover letter tomorrow and can mail it to you for further suggestion..
Yes I have studied in US..I did my private pilot training from there..and yes I came back to clear my Dgca exams..and how do you want me to use it??kindly explain bro..

OK, so I think you can get something like a recommendation letter written from the DGCA.

The statement of purpose is different from the cover letter. The statement of purpose explains how the program you want to go for is a logical progression from your previous studies. You have to explain:

- why you want to go for this program, given your previous studies
- if you studied abroad and came back to India, show that you did this, explain why you came back (to work, to get further training, etc.), and that you have a history of respecting your student visa restrictions
- why you don't want to go for any similar programs in your home country, if they exist -- if they don't then say that they don't exist clearly
- how this program will enhance your employment opportunities in your home country (very important)

One additional thing you can do is, beef up the acceptance from the Canadian uni you got into. What institution was it? Do you have a prospective supervisor there? Can you write to your uni and ask the supervising department or whatever it is to send you a *personalized* reference letter in addition to the acceptance letter? Something that says: this student was selected because of his/her talents and suitability for our program, and we would really like to provide him/her the training they are seeking.

I did this for my own program, though it's a research-oriented PhD program and so quite different from yours -- my research supervisor wrote me a highly personalized reference letter addressed to the VO saying that I was a good fit for the department and for working with him in his lab.

Ok I will make a statement of purpose..and will mail it to you..by tommorow..for the future prospects if my education....I will write that there are a lot of expats pilot workout in India because of the shortage..and are paid a lot more than Indian pilots..dgca have already issued an order to airlines stating that they can't use expats after July 30 2013...there is a requirement of 94000 pilots in the coming 3 years...in the Asia pacific region...will also mention the increase in passenger data..and all..will Print out the documents proving the above..and will also attach weblinks..
And I will ask my school to write such a letter for me..my duration of course will not take more than 6 months..but to be on the safe side..the school said we should apply for student visa..all I have to do is merely 80 hours..give me your email Id..if you don't mind...anything else that I should do??

Yep, say all this, and preferably get your DGCA to say similar things in his letter.

Also in your statement of purpose, mention that you have a history of respecting student visa restrictions, i.e. you studied abroad previously and came back to India for further studies/training/certification/whatever. Make sure to point this out -- it will strengthen your case for the Study Permit.
