Hello all,

I have graduated from Canada in 2017 and got a PGWP and when it was about to expire, I went to the nearest border and did a flag point and got it renewed. I have left Canada in the beginning of this year and still till now im unable to return as Saudi Arabia has a restricted their international flight.

my current work permit expires on the26th of this month. My work back in Canada is still closed but they’re opening back up (hotel front desk).

i am not sure how to extend my work permit as im not working now. Also when i tried to extend through my cic,i dont seem to see relevant option to my situation. I see extend PGWP option which isnt my opinion as ive graduated a while ago and have issued myfirst work permit based on that.
Im very desperate to see my work permit expiring in front of me without being able to do anything.

** one piece of information that might help and also want to confirm.

ive moved in with my partner last September ( we have bill’s addressed togather, bank accounts, everything really.... i just haven’t been physically there aince the beginning of this year. Although my partner had visited me here in saudi three times. ) ... does that consider us as common law?

I´m not clear on whether you currently have a PGWP or a closed WP, but PGWP are not renewable. Unless you have a PR application in progress, your only option seems to be a closed WP with job offer/LMIA from your employer.

To be considered as common law you have to physically live together for at least 1 year
