Something strange is happening at CIC.

I got the email that I need to send my passport for resident visa issuance. After I sent the passport I got the email from new delhi after a week that I need to re-do the chest X-ray.

Did this happen to anyone else?

Your medicals must be valid till the date you land in Canada.

If it expires before that, Visa office asks for re-medical. Thats usual.

That is not always the case. See: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/medic/assess/cert.asp

Now, in the original poster's case, the re-medical is probably outside of the 15 month window.

Thanks guys for the response.

The original medical was done in May 2014 which is still under 15 months. Another medical was done in December 2014 for study permit.

CIC asked for medical details on June 9, 2015 to see if they can extend the medical (which were provided right away) and then at the end of June (June 29 to be exact) they sent the email that sent us the passport to issue to visa. Ecas status changed to Decision made in the third week of June

That means that the medical was either extended or they considered the medical done in December 2014.

Now New Delhi ask for X-Ray.

I dont understand if they are confused or they are trying to confuse me.

Were X-Rays done as part of your December 2014 exam?

In which case, it's possible that the x-rays were unclear. The alternative is that it's a hiccup in the system. The safe route is to get the x-rays redone, and hope they aren't needed.

If the X-ray was not clear then I would not have gotten the study permit to come to Canada in the first place. they should have asked for it then.

This is very strange for me, that they say that the file is finalized and we are ready to issue a visa and then another office send an email out of the blue that we require the X-ray.

For me the file can only be finalized when everything is done
