Hello Guys

My wife submitted her PR renewal status last end of Feb 2016, and based on AOR They start processing it by April 1, 2016.
We received email of correspondence that need to send additional documents last May 2, 2016. In the email you have options in sending the documents via email and that's what we did the next day, we sent the additional docs via email. After a month there still no reply , So last month we did send again same documents via Canada post with includes explanation letter on it. It's already received based on tracking number.

Checking on the PR card processing time for renewal is 87 days and currently working on applications received by April 11, 2016.

What seems to be the problem? we complied and followed instructions given to us. It's more than 3 months already.

Thank you guys.

I don't know but since I worked in a legal office (many years ago) the reason might be that your application / file was put on "follow-up".

When we asked our clients to send us some more documents we put the clients file on-hold / follow-up. Meaning, if we send a request on July 12 we would put the file on-hold until July 22 (for 10 days), depending on the case. We would not go back to that file right away but on July 22. The reason is that this way we were able to work on other files.
We never knew how fast a client would send in the papers / information we asked for. So the follow-up worked just fine.

You shouldn't be too concerned! It won't help you anyways.

Waiting sucks but there is worse :)

Better to Call CIC for the updates.

Since there was a request for additional information, the routine processing time line is no longer relevant.

There is little information about how long it could take in this situation; reports by others indicate it can take from a few weeks or months longer, to a year or more.

IRCC has no deadlines for processing PR card applications. And since a PR does not need a PR card to retain PR status, there appears to be little incentive for IRCC to address how long processing takes for non-routine applications.

Thank you all guys for the reply.

Regarding the additional documents, we submitted it via email the next day may 3rd. (That documents must be attention to the specific agent handling our application as per instruction on the email) so last june 27th we decided to send same documents again, but now via Canada post and it's already received. It's been 2 months now and there still no update. Better to call them to ask.
