Hey everyone, I'm hoping someone can help me out with some relatable experience. I have submitted my application for spousal sponsorship (inland) at the end of April. Stupid me, I lost my tracking number so I have no idea if my package ever arrived or not (I'm currently sitting on good faith that Canada Post didn't lose my package and it's just taking forever for someone to open my application). To get to the point, I'm freaking out a bit. I've been reading that many people at least receive an AOR within 3 weeks of submitting their package and I have had absolutely no communication from IRCC in nearly three months and I can't find my info online with my receipt number. Is it normal for this to happen? To lose 3 months just waiting for an acknowledgement of receipt? I'm also waiting on a work permit that I submitted with my application which is 90% of why my nerves are on fire right now. How long did some of you have to wait for an AOR? Thanks!

The sponsor is supposed to receive an AOR via email by the latest of 8 weeks after CIC receives it. Check your junk mail.
this is inaccurate. there is no standard times and you need to rely on trends but every case is different. I received AOR after 70 days. others closer to 80 days. Some after 4-5 months.

You can first check your emails to find the pdf of the email when you paid. If you can't remember maybe look at bank or credit card statement and check when the payment was made. then go over your emails around that date and find the receipt sent from IRCC. if all fails then give them a call. you can provide your name and applicant name, they should be able to track down ur info. Good luck

That's reassuring. Can I ask if you applied with a work permit? And if you did, how long did it take to receive that after receiving your AOR?
I applied outland, so no work permit. In 2018 from july most of applicants got aor after4-5months. It is normal.
