Hi! I'm currently waiting for the decision on my PR application through CEC (AOR is August and medical exam was passed in September. Background check in process since September. Have had no updates since). My experience in Canada was in Quebec (mostly Montreal) but I applied through CEC with the intention of residing in Toronto, Ontario (I don't have a provincial nominee). I was under the impression that I would be there by the end of last year but due to the backlog that ended up obviously not being the case haha. During all this waiting time, I've done a lot of reflecting and realized that the province of Quebec is where I really want to be. I know that once you have PR you have the right to move anywhere but is there any way that I can make it my premier destination or is this out of the question without withdrawing my application and doing a new pathway? I also wonder if my application will even get accepted due to the majority of past experience being in Quebec.
I now have the required level of French needed to immigrate to Quebec (had failed to obtain this before which broke my heart) and earlier this year I received an invitation to apply for the Certificat Sélection du Québec because I thought I'd be able to try and get one at same time but turns out you can't because it's another application linked with IRCC.
Sorry text is so long! All this waiting is too much because I just want to know what's happening so have an idea about my future
On a side note, I'm also planning on returning to Canada end of May but as a 'tourist'/visitor (I'm from the UK). I don't know if this would also influence the status of my application (for example, if having to update contact info. I'm not sure how long I will be there for as it's a one way ticket)
