Get a letter from college.

Take the letter with passport to service canada. They will issue SIN.

depends ..what is written on ur study permit? does ur study permit say u can work off campus?

Its a hassle free process. I got mine the day next to my arrival. Which state are you in? You just need your study permit, passport and letter of acceptance.

Hey bro is it mandatory to take letter of college while going to Service Canada office

if u have applied before june 1st and have a study permit that says u cannot work off campus without authorization then u need to get a letter from CIC stating ur authorized to work. u get SIN on the same day if u have all the documents.

By the new rules you are already entitled to 20hrs/week work. You can go get it the same day as you arrive. Its just a piece of paper. It takes barely 5 minutes.
