Hello.

Im looking for some clarification on how to get an offer of employment to Canada.

I am a skilled worker and live in Italy. I have been making fresh pasta for 30+ years. Im looking to come to Canada and work for a fresh pasta company. But it is hard to show my skills if the employer doesnt meet me in person.

I was planning on travelling to Canada as a tourist and meet in person potential pasta business owners...once i find a company that would hire me will it be possible for them to offer me a letter of employment and start the process while im still in canada? I would wait in canada until i receive my work permit...not sure how long that takes, as i understand i can stay in canada as a tourist for only 6 months. I have friends that live in canada n i would stay w.them.

Is this something that can be done?

I dont know how else to show my skills/credibilty to people that would be interested in hiring me.

What other options do i have to receive a job offer from Canada and whats the waiting period.

Thank you for your time.

You would need to find an employer willing to sponsor an LMIA application which costs them 1000 CAN plus they would have to advertise the job for months to ensure no resident was available. Most employers are not willing to spend the money or time to do this.

To give you a idea of the LMIA process

Probably unlikey that you could spend enough time on a visit for the process to complete.

Given you say you have been preparing pasta for 30 plus years then age is probably against you for permenant immigration
