Steps after Confirmation of Permanent Residence

Hello

I am Canadian and sponsoring my husband from Africa. He will be receiving his confirmation of permanent residence (CoP) on Monday. Before he travels we would like know some things

1. Does he need an eTA to enter Canada? He does not have a passport from a visa exempted country

2. Can he transit through Europe? I am under the impression that the CoP is not treated like a PR card.

1. He will receive a visa in his passport.

2. There are a lot of countries in Europe. You're going to need to do a little research yourself depending on where he is transiting.
