I came into Canada when I was 5 years old, and I believe that my step-mum was listed on my documentation instead of my birth mum. Now I would like to bring my biologiical mum in, is there anything I can do?

Okay, would I have to convince the government that my step mum isn't my mum? Also, would it have any negative effect on my stepmum, who is also a Canadian citizen like me?

No impact on your step mum. Your biological mother applies for a visitor visa and she shows her own funds, ties to return, travel history. If she doesn't have any other children under 22 or spouse, then her family ties are weak. Ties are family, job letter with approved leave, business, income property etc.

This may not be an issue for her to visit on a normal visitor but could be a huge issue if you apply for a supervisa or ever get a chance to apply for PGP. You should speak to a lawyer. Who misrepresented your family history, when it happened (were you a minor), whether it happened multiple times, did the misrepresentation happen in multiple documents, etc.

The OP was five years old.

I know but if it kept on happening when they were a teenager (although technically still a minor) and especially as an adult then it becomes even more problematic.
5 year olds don't generally retain that sort of information (I personally can't remember a thing my parents told me when I was 5), nor do parents go into the legal implications of the immigration process with their 5 year olds. The chances of a 15 year old or 30 year old misrepresenting without actually having any knowledge of the circumstances is nil. Op isn't even sure if their step mother was listed as their birth mother in the application (I believe that my step-mum was listed on my documentation instead of my birth mum.). Give it a rest.

Sure. But fair to say that for the initial documentation will be presumed that the child of five had no role and could not have misrepresented.
