Hi everyone,

The US embassy had rejected a student visa application of my husband in 2011.

How to answer this under Statutory Questions:
Has ___________ ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any other country?

Answer yes and submit a letter of explanation stating why the Visa was rejected n when. Visa rejection isn't a big deal CIC won't base their decision on the rejection

As Breeze00 mentioned, as long as you are honest with the statutory question, you should be fine. My friend was once refused her US working visa and she mentioned this refusal on her PR application and she was granted PR without any problem.
