Dear Friends,

I am currently filling in my application form for applying for PR under CEC. I see that there is a form "Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union (IMM 5409) to be filled up". Can anyone please confirm if I need to fill in this form or not. I am legally married and looks like this form does not apply to me.

Thanks

If you are not legally married but have been living with a partner for at least a year, you are considered "common-law spouses" in Canada. In that case you would have to complete this form. You would also be wise to complete the declaration for the CRA -

If you are not living with a partner, then you do not need this form.
