to give a recent timeline as a data point and example:
End Of Feb 2020 - IRCC London denied PR renewal due to not meeting residency obligations (IRCC Hamilton had previously issued new PR card, but due to card expiry of old card, and being outside of Canada at that point, IRCC London re-evaluated the whole case when application made for PR Travel Document)
Mid of March 2020 - notice of appeal filed
July 2020 - submission of appeal brief to IAD
Sep 2020 - IAD confirms receipt of notice of appeal
Jan 2021 - CBSA submits copy of record to IAD and app
April 2021 - IAD sends notice to appear (for end of June)
End of June 2021 - two days before hearing, Minister's counsel submits additional late disclosure
End of June 2021 - 3h virtual appeals hearing over Microsoft Teams
Final decision of board member to be expected in writing within 60 days of hearing
