hi
i sponsored my husband to come to canada over a year ago. he did the medical and status updated that medical results have been received. any idea how much longer i have to wait after the medical, his paperwork is at the visa office in trinidad and tobago.
Hi mantie and welcome to the forum. As Behopeful suggested, come and read some of the Port of Spain (POS) office folks experiences at this link:
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/port-of-spain-office-trinidad-and-tobago-t42874.0.html
Not sure if you know how to navigate these forums or not, I did not when I was new but have since figured a few things out, so in case you don't know:
After you click on the link above, you will arrive at another page and the top of that screen (#1) is the oldest post and the number #338 (I think) will be the most recent post and you can read as much as you want in between. I believe it covers off a few years and will give you some good information as to the various experiences of people on this forum that are having their apps being processed at that visa office (VO).
The other day CIC updated their website for the processing times at all of the VOs abroad and POS went from 18 months to 19 months

, unfortunately. So your application is still well within their timetable of processing. Some folks get through faster and some take longer. The POS spreadsheet that Behopeful is referring to is at the following link: http://goo.gl/QQw3i and is maintained/updated by one of the other forum members named Miss Dominica. If you would like your information to be added, you can send her a request, she is very helpful.
New members need 10 posts before they can add in their timeline details that show underneath your forum name on the left hand side of the screen. However you can also just type the timeline info. into your message, which is what I did before I had 10 posts.
With regard to your situation specifically, have you received any communication at all from the POS office? Was your husband requested to do the medical or did you send it in with your initial app? Are there any inadmissability charges, was he ever in Canada and overstayed a visit? There are many factors that can affect processing so if you want to share a few more details about your story, we can probably be more helpful. Hope this is a good start. Blessings.
