My husband been out status since 2017 December we applied for spousel in 2020 bio and medical just did it this week

Does this means he won't get approved for his PR BC he's been out of status since 2017 of December what will happen are representative said he can't get work permit because he has been out of status for so long we sent in our spousel sponsorship application 2020 of may they just acknowledge our documents what's gonna happen what's next

He can still be approved for PR while in Canada out of status. Being approved for PR through spousal sponsorship is about proving your relationship is genuine.

In terms of the work permit, he can only qualify for one after he receives AIP which happens quite late in the process. Those who have status in Canada qualify much earlier.
