I have been a student in Canada for two years. I finished my study and my study permit expires soon . I have been asked to take the medical and my NOC on the list. I do not want to leave Canada before I get the PR , can I change my status to visitor especially that I have proof of funds that cover me as long as I am in Canada? Will that go OK with the immigration responsible for renewing visas ? I WILL EXPLAIN THE SITUATION TO THEM.

Do you qualify to apply for a post-grad work permit? Might be an idea. Otherwise you can apply to change your status to visitor.
