Should we do the fingerprint based option or the name based option for state police clearance? FBI police clearance clearly requires fingerprint. but they do not say anything about the state police certificate....

Fingerprint is probably best.

I did my state police clearance by using Livescan (digital) fingerprinting. The livescan station will be the one to submit electronically your fingerprint. you'll just have to wait for 7 days, though i waited for 10 days i think.

Most States that I know in the US, requires fingerprint to issue the PCC.

We went to

*"State Department of Public safety"
Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Justice Information Services ( Address provided by CIC)

* Requested for our State PC at the reception window.

* Had to fill out a form

* Gave the form along with our driving licence to the reception window

* Receptionist asked us to give our fingerprint on a "Red Electronic Device" ( same as at Airport Immigration of US)

* Asked us to wait couple of minutes

* After 5 minutes she gave us our state PC and driving licence
