AOR Received.

I received my FBI background check back from myFBIreport today. On it it states " a search of the fingerprints provided by this individual has revealed no prior arrest data at the FBI. This does not preclude further criminal history at state or loca level"

Does this mean I need to get a state background check? Or am I good to go?

Thanks!

state records are not required, unless specifically requested by IRCC. you are fine with your FBI clearance only.

Thanks again. Even though it says there is no arrest data, I have been arrested for dui but my charges were dismissed. Since it says no arrest data, should I still tell CIC that I have been arrested where it asks if I have ever been arrested?

IMO being arrested and having your charges dismissed are 2 separate things. if you were arrested and the question specifically asks if you were arrested, then you need to answer truthfully and provide an explanation that your charges were dismissed. it may be a good idea to get a copy of your state record where this incident occurred, in case immigration asks for it. OR you can include it as a supplement to your explanation, though it is not required to do so.

Does anyone know if I can use my Maryland judiciary case search info I can get on line? I can search my case and print it out at home. Or should I get a state background check done

Anyone have any info on this?

Will court dockets work?

submit all information you have on the incident that shows the charges were dismissed and provide an explanation in the application. let IRCC decide what other information is needed.

I only ask if court dockets were sufficient because the state of Maryland doesn't do letters or anything to state it was dismissed.

Am I allowed to submit a separate piece of paper explaining how the charges were dropped?

I have a question.... why do you think the FBI report is not enough? A follow up, you do realise that criminality information about people both north and south of the border are freely available to border agents (and the CBSA is an arm of the CIC)? That would mean, anyone with CIC/CBSA clearance can query your file and find the case without you needing to do anything. In fact, if you apply, order your case notes after a few months. You will see one of the first tasks they do is under an "INFOSHARING" topic. They run everyone by the US to see what information they can get...

So, why worry about it -- they only ask for FBI clearance. Don't look for trouble where there isn't any :).

I did not know this!! CIC/CBSA actually does this?!
I am really just trying to be proactive as I won't be submitting until march when we get married!

Thanks for you reply! All this info is helpful!!

Yup. Absolutely. CBP has access to Canadian's data too.

I found the INFOSHARING when I ordered my wife's notes. She is Russian -- never travelled to the US, ever. It's definitely in there -- they also have biometrics data that if a finger print is available, they can get that too.

I am just looking at it, it was literally run (NRT was the obvious result) the day we received AOR.

What more can they really find if the FBI check came back clear anyways?
