Hello,

I received a transit number (35972) and my account number for my startright account from Scotiabank. The banks here in Mexico have only one single field to include that information and I am confused because the account number I received has the format 000000101111222 (fifteen digits length) and I have read that Canadian accounts have seven digits. I was trying to figure out the meaning of the numbers in my account number but nothing makes sense; for instance, if the institution number were included, it should be 002 for Scotiabank. If my bank wants the transit number followed by the account number, how I should write it (they have not been of any help even when I provided them with the instructions document I received from Scotiabank and the staff in Canada told my that the staff in my local branch should know):

35972 002 000000101111222 (to include the institution number)?
35972 000000101111222 (without the institution number)?
35972 101111222 (without all the zeros)?

How have you done it?

I would appreciate any guidance.
