Just after I am done with my masters(in a canadian university) I started a job under open work permit. My open work permit is valid till, April, 2016. However, recently I got PhD admission, and I expect to start from Jan, 2016. My question is, how can I apply for study permit? How long it takes to get a study permit? Is there anything like surrendering current work permit before applying for study permit? Also, I think I don't have to apply for new one, I need to extend the one I had during masters?
