I am an international student, I got accepted to Seneca college for May. My full tuition fees and living expenses will be paid for by a family friend who is currently a citizen of Canada.

How do I go about applying for my student visa? Is there a special application request I have to make since I won't be the one providing the bank statements etc?

P.S the country I am applying for don't need English or VISA to visit Canada.

I would be thankful for all the help!

We need more details before we can help.

I belong to Barbados
I'm applying for a General International Student Study Permit
My course will be funded entirely by a family friend. I got my acceptance letter 2 weeks ago from Seneca. I will be applying from outside Canada.
Our country doesn't require English, Visitors VISA or Any Medical to come to Canada

Hope this is enough

Thank you again

I wish I could help, but I don't have exact insight about the application process your country follows,
But I would suggest you show your funds and not someone who is already in Canada, as they might take it as a possible immigrant, and reject your Visa.
Still you consult others before reaching to a conclusion. And you have to apply before April 1st as that I the deadline for application of Visa for May intake.

Who is the family friend? Generally speaking, CIC prefers funding to come from an immediate / close family member. You'll need your sponsor to provide a letter of support. Also, while you may not be providing bank statements yourself - your sponsor certainly needs to provide bank statements and ideally tax returns to prove they have the funds to pay for your studies. Again, much better (higher chance of visa approval) if an immediate member of your family is your sponsor.

Do I HAVE to apply by April? Or I can do it during April the course is starting May 15th?

If you apply after the suggested deadline, it's quite possible the study permit won't be approved in time and you'll have to defer your studies to the following semester.

Your visa definitely won't be approved in time - It's 7 weeks processing time for the Caribbean. I applied 5 weeks ago from Guyana & haven't heard anything yet!
