Start date of work with work permit based on spouse's study permit

Hello!
I have got the study permit and my wife also have got the work permit. My classes will start in August but we decided to come earlier in April.
Can you explain to me at what moment my wife will be eligible to start working?
Will it happen from the moment as we together will pass the visa officer in the airport or from the moment as my studying begin?

And the second question - Is it ok that I planning to come so early? it is almost 5 month before my studying begin.
I am planning to make booking in ESL program in one of the English studying school to show officer that I intend to improve our English skills

you can come to Canada earlier than your classes start. just bear in mind that you would have to be able to support yourself without working until school starts.

i think your spouse cannot start working until school starts

no she cant. her work permit is based off yours. same as you cant start working until school starts

Neither of you are allowed to work until you actually start your studies.

Note that there is always the possibility of refusal when coming so early.
