Hello guys,

Let me explain you strange my situation.

I obtained my PR a year ago with Entry Express as 2nd applicant.

I landed In January 2016, but i had to go back en france to end some business and to prepare my settlement in Canada.

Sadly,1 month after that, my girlfriend (Who was the Priamry applicant) decided to leave me .... :(

But In June 2016, I met a newgirlfriend in my country .... Today, she is interested to follow me and live in Canada....

My question is : If I marry Her, Will CIC consider me as sponsored by my ex girlfriend in the Entry express process ? meaning I won't be able to sponsor my new wife before five years !

Or CIC will consider me as an FSW applicant with the possibility to sponsor my new wife ?

Thanks

No - you will not be classified as someone who was sponsored. Yes - you will be able to sponsor your new wife.

Note that you can expect your application to be reviewed more closely due to how quickly your relationship broke up after you landed and your new relationship started. Make sure you include plenty of evidence to prove the relationship is real. Also, I assume you're aware that as a PR, you must be living in Canada in order to sponsor and must continue living in Canada while the application is in progress.

Thanks scylla,

Is there already a topic with this kind of situation ?

I find nothing ...

I don't know of any topics with this situation.

You have only known your new gf 4 months, so if you get married and immediately try to sponsor her it will look very suspicious, and good chance CIC will think you are marrying only for immigration purposes. A "normal" timeline usually involves a year or so of dating/engagement before getting married. Not that it's impossible to sponsor a wife after a quick relationship, but you may run into problems.

Your new girlfriend may be better off trying to get an IEC/Working holiday visa to live/work in Canada for a year, and during that time you can continue your relationship in Canada and apply for her PR later on either as married or after you reach common-law status.

Totally topic jumping (sorry OP!) But we had a similar situation. I met my wife online and we gabbed daily to the point that skype would crash because our logs were soo long. We did video weekly on weekends. After a year she came to visit. After that I knew she was the one, so we married on her next visit. We got engaged just after the visit. 3 month time between engagement and our marriage. This happens in her culture.

She is awesome with my family and my son. She's an awesome supportive partner for me. We've supplied strong evidence, and many (70) photos of her with me and various members of her family and mine (and me with hers) at different family functions. Obviously all having a great time..

Would this be viewed with suspicion? Or do you think it's officer objectivity?

I agree my situation could be considered as suspicious ...

And i won't be married with my new GF next week after a 3 months relation ... :)

The working holiday visa seems to be the best solution at the begining.

But if a wanna live with her in canada after this visa and if she needs a PR status, i'll maybe have to sponsor her...

Im just worried about my status as 2nd applicant in my own PR application, and need to know if i'm considered as ´normal' permanent resident by CIC or sponsored by my ex wife. In the second case i will be impossible to sponsor my new GF for 5 years .../
