Hi everyone,
,
I have applied for a Paper-based temporary work permit on 07 Jan, 20 at VFS London and mailed my Paper-based PR application (AIPP) in Feb 2020. I only have DHL delivery confirmation for my PR application. I'm seeing CIC updates that Sydney office is working on PR applications as usual but it has just past 6 months and I still don't have an AOR. Also, TWP status is still Application in progress.

I have raised a few out of normal processing times webforms and emailed embassy but there was no response. Now my job is at risk due to Covid-19 and I'm worried sick if it takes another 6 months or a year to process my TWP I may lose the job and my PR application will be void. I'm confident both my TWP and PR applications have exceeded normal processing times and service standards but I'm not sure what else can be done to chase IRCC for a proper update.

Can someone be kind enough to advise?

Thanks in advance!

In non COVID-19 times. Uncertainty and anxiety are unfortunately the new norm, whatever the optimistic? fictional? processing times on the IRCC site.

What you are experiencing is normal right now and there's really not much you can do but wait.

Unfortunately pretty much all work permits and PR applications are taking lonter to process due to COVID-19. In fact, IRCC communicated some time ago (March? April?) that all PR applications will be exceeding normal processing times due to the pandemic. Most are in the same boat as you.

If you want to see what others are experiencing in terms of processing times for AIPP, you would likely be best off posting to the PNP section of this forum.

Thank you thevisawhisperer and scylla for your replies :)

I'm sure you agree ideally the estimated processing time for AIPP PR is 6 months but I'm still not convinced it would take over 6 months to just acknowledge an application!

This is actually normal right now for AIPP to the best of my knowledge. Unfortunately I don't think your application is in any way unique in this regard. Suggest you join the AIPP thread. You'll get the best info there. Good luck.
