Hi !
I'm an applicant waiting since March who received an AIP in August.
Just wondering if anyone has knowledge about what the 2 Stages are about. I'm assuming the following, correct me if I'm wrong.

Stage 1-Submission of all docs and verify them (at the CPC).
Stage 2- Bio, Meds, Criminality, Background check.
Is that it or is there more technicality to it ?

Also does an AIP with all the stage 2 clearance mean an approval ?

The first stage is much like the regular study-permit process. International students have to submit:

  • letter of acceptance;
  • Certificat d’acceptation du Québec (for Quebec students only);
  • proof of funds;
  • proof that they can leave Canada when they no longer have legal temporary or permanent status; and
  • any family ties to Canada.
Immigration officers will assess these applications and issue pre-approval at their discretion. International students can begin studying at this stage.

To get the full study permit, and eventually be able to travel to Canada, international students will need to submit:

  • Immigration medical examination
  • Security-Police certificates
  • Biometrics

Ok.
Do you know what part of the GCMS notes contain the info about the VO being satisfied with the applicant's intentions. The NOTES section ?
Coz this is my notes section-
Note 1:Aug 2020- AIP sent via email.
Note 2: June 2020- Applicant meets SDS requirement, satisfied to approve. R1, 2022/03/31.
I was wondering if the Note 2 was about just the Step 1 or application all together.
i think i will live in peace if anyone answers this

It's the final verdict (all together). On Aug 2020, you passed the stage 1 and on June 2020 you passed the stage 2. There is nothing odd here. Looks normal

haha so I passed Stage 2 before S1.
On a serious note, you say that I've passed everything ? I think I can now live in some peace (even if you or don't say that your words aren't final, it's the VO's decision haha).

It's normal for march files to be processed in such a confusing manner. They were checking medicals and biometrics initially in stage 1 and later stopped checking medical and bio (switched it to checking it under stage 2 only) to save processing time.
