Staff accom for employee

Hello everyone!
I got closed work permit (low wage) and decided to move out from staff accommodation, but my boss told me I can't move out from staff accom because he provided me it.
Does anyone know any rules that employee "must" live in staff accom? or do I have choice to live there or not?

You usually have the option to move out but you may not get any extra money to pay for your own accommodation. Depends on how your contract is written.
