Hello everyone,

I’m currently employed as a dietary aide in a long-term care (agecare) facility in Canada. My main duties include:
• Assisting with food preparation and portioning meals based on therapeutic diets
• Serving food directly to residents in the dining room or their rooms
• Cleaning and sanitizing dining areas and kitchen tools
• Following HACCP, WHMIS, and MSDS guidelines
• Supporting catering tasks for special functions
• Communicating with nurses and health care aides about residents’ dietary needs

I do not provide direct personal care, but I work closely with healthcare staff to support resident nutrition and health.

I would like to know if this role fits under NOC 33109 – Other Assisting Occupations in Support of Health Services for immigration or work permit purposes?

If anyone has experience with this or can point me to IRCC’s official stance, I’d greatly appreciate it.

No it doesn't fit. It is NOC 65201. Dietary Aide is even listed as one of the job titles and your duties fit the NOC.

No you would not fall under this NOC. If you look at the professions listed under the category they have more direct patient contact and often specific training. Dietary aides have always fallen under NOC 65201
