Can some1 tell me if the difference between applying under SPP and General category.

Also, what is the success rate ??

You can apply through SPP only if you have admission in the SPP listed institution and the paper work is less. But in General you can apply no matter which institution you have applied.

Thanks for your reply - What are the benefits of applying under SPP??

Less paper work, low tuition fee, quick processing.

I get my answer... so SPP it is for me .. thanks for your help Dipta!!

You are welcome.

After PG diploma in a specific IT domain like wireless , database, information system etc , what will be the job prospects ? Are jobs available after doing this PG diploma course?

Hello everyone,

Indeed SPP is a booster for students and indeed SPP is damn good option to apply for a visa as it has higher success rate and fast processing. However, it's not your choice to make to apply under SPP or General. There are certain pre-requiste for applying under SPP.

apart from the info already available, this is what you need to have further;

1. 12th grad (specifically last qualification) - should have scored 50% and above,
2. Gap between your application date and your last qualification shouldn't be more than 4.5 years.

Cheers!

It is not a required rule...!! Such things are changing for person to person....Some applicants with gap got visa easily for masters but some did not get visa for pg diploma....So analysis says if one is going for masters then gap is acceptable but not for pg..... but gap of years is not mentioned anywhere. Thus it is gambling and depending on profile and finance we show. Rules for canda visa are becoming annoying and complicated these days...

Well, as I said in my previous post, the last two rules mentioned aren't on CIC,CHC or any website. However, if you visit a good college/Uni and have this gap issue, you will get to know what I meant.

@paritosh, well as you or me aren't consultants, hence do not know the fact as we do not communicate with institutions directly on daily, weekly basis. However, when you contact a college with gap issue, you will get to know it. Yes, you are partially right in a manner that some colleges will issue you LOAnletter if you have valid work experience and some won't even if you have valid work experience covering the gap. For example, check it with Centennial college, they won't issue you a LOA even if you have valid work experience to show the gap of more than 4.5 years and I bet on this. No matter you apply for masters or PG diploma.

Conclusion; It depends if the college/Uni is okay to offer you LOA under SPP even after the gap of more than 4.5 years (which some colleges will issue, and some won't).

Cheers!
