hey i want to ask a couple of things, i am on a study visa and i got charged for indecent act like 15 days ago(i am still studying) and my wife is also studying here she is also on a study visa.We got married 3 months back and she is going to sponser me for my work permit and i just need to know if cic will ask me for the charge or anything else?(my wife does not have any criminal record)

thanks alot!

CIC won't issue a new visa while you have charges pending. You will have to wait until your case is completed before attempting to switch to a work permit. You have to stay on the study permit for now and continue studying full time.

Get a very good criminal lawyer and work to get the charged dropped. If you are convicted, this may create problems for you in remaining in Canada.

If your wife is on a study permit, how is she going to 'sponsor' you for a work permit?

Your application will ask if you've been arrested, charged, convicted, etc. Be honest. Nothing will happen with any application until there is a resolution.

yes she is on study permit and she will be sponsring me under commow law partner.

i was arrested they asked me everything and give me a court date and thats it(didn't got the disclose yet from court will be getting it on 24th january 2018) any way out?

Your wife is not sponsoring you. You want to apply for a work permit based on her study permit, which is something entirely different from sponsorship.

As you have already been told, your "way out" is to get a very good criminal lawyer. Even then, this can still end up with you being convicted, serving time and being removed from Canada.

Did you really mean "indecent act"? Looking at Canadian law this is basically masturbating in front of a member of public. Not something they would charge you with on a whim?

It can mean a variety of things but none of them a really great.
