Spouse visa with open work permit getting delayed

Hello,
My wife applied for spouse visa open workpermit in August 08 2018. It’s almost 8 weeks now I didnt even got a single update from CIC.why it is getting delayed. Some please help me regarding this. I’m a student in Canada. My wife is in India.
