Hi Guys,

What are the options of sponsoring a spouse for Canada other than Permanent residency?

there is no such thing as Temporary residency for Spouse?

You can't sponsor them for anything other than permanent residency.

No. In fact, spouses will generally be denied temporary residency because they have a spouse in Canada and they would be at risk of overstaying.

(Why would you want your spouse to only temporarily visit you?)

only other thing is a visitor visa just like anyone else. In that case you wouldn't "sponsor" but instead invite. like KHP said though chances can be slim as they might think spouse would want to stay. unless your plan is to leave Canada and you can prove that hence you don't want to apply permanent?

well, I have seen some very bad experiences my friends had they sponsored their spouse they came here they got into a fight and called cops police came and kicked my friend out of his own house it took him 10 years to save $100K for down payment and now he is living on the road and his wife will take 50% of this its a long story :)

So choose your spouse better than your friend did. He must have a really bad lawyer if he is losing 50%.

This isn’t correct. It is likely in a case where wealth has been accumulated only throughout the marriage but not if someone is married for a few years.
