Spouse sponsorship

Hi guys,

I am planning to get married this year and planning to sponsor my wife who is currently in Pakistan. As per CIC website the processing time is 47 months and I know some people who were able to bring their spouses to Canada in like 10-14 months. 47 months sounds alot. Is anything I am missing here? Is there any other faster alternative to?
My legal status is PR in Canada.

The statistical figure for the processing time is based on 80% of applications are completed within 47 months. It states nothing about a single individual application, which could take more or less than 47 months. Many will be much faster.

Note that Pakistani applications are now processed in London, not Islamabad. London has an 80% processing time of 28 months due to the backlog of applications received from Islamabad over the past few years. The actual average processing time is much less.

Currently all Pakistani origin Family Sponsorship Applications are sent directly to London Visa Office by CPC-M, and currently its taking around 11-18 months time in straight forward applications, considering complete and accurate applications, whether PR or Citizenship doesn't matter, except PR has to be physically present in Canada, though can make short trips to Pakistan which are good to show the true relationship with spouse.

Thanks alot guys... No more thing... by looking into the CIC website the processing time in Colombo is way less as compared to Islamabad... as you guys are saying applications are sent to London office.. so in this if I apply in Colombo office will this make any difference ?

You can't choose which vo will handle your case.
Cic choose based on your citizenship or country of residence.
