Hi i am an indian citizen living in USA right now. My wife lives in Canada and she filed for my PR. File has been approved in Canada and has been sent to India for further processing.

So my question is Once my file is processed in India , do i need to personally go to india for picking up my Visa . IF not then how the canadian ambassay will send the immigration documents (visa, entry papers) to me. Will they send it to my home address in India?

They always mail your passport back to you. So you should receive it in the US. The only thing is you might be called for an interview back in India and then you would need to fly there.

Good luck.

thanks a lot for your reply . Will the canadian embassay send me a confirmation email before sending out the visa package at my residence in NJ?

I don't think so. But to be sure you could always contact them directly.

you need not go to India for anything besides you being called for interview. If your case is simple and straight forward , even it will be waived off.

Regarding mailing Passport back to your address is a question. As per my knowledge they will return your passport to the address which you have furnished in your application. The address which is displayed on your ecas status.

you may cross check with someone who has similar case like yours.

Can u share your timeline pls

My application was filed on 14th march 2012. My wife who is canada got an email last week saying that my application was processed in canada and its complete and now they are sending it to india for further processing (medical and stuffs). When i check on ecas my address mentioned is my USA Mailing address.

good! enjoy then. but i suggest that sometimes later you should drop an email to CHC ND for confirmation. use case specific email id .

Hey i had one more question. How the PR visa stamping will be done on my passport if i dont even need to go to india?

You have to be in India for that. but the thing is after passport they will take months to give their decision. ND is holding my passport for more than 3 months :(

somewhere i had read on the forum that some like you had requested the ND to ask for passport at finalization stage since he is outside india on work permit. ND has accepted the same, you can also try this.

I think this will be the best way for you. Else u need to come back leaving your work there

Good Luck :)

Wait for your PPR and then take some action.

on your PPR you will have your address also along with your UCI no.

hey just wanted to know the PPR that we get in mail from CHC ND also has the box in which we can send our passport?

Actually, I have read in the Delhi thread that it is illegal to mail your passport outside of India. I wasn't aware that India as such a law. So they would only mail it back into India. They might give you some indications as to what to do in your case. Or maybe you should contact them directly to inquire about the procedure that is best in your case.

That is correct, it is illegal to mail an Indian passport internationally.
