Hello all,

I want to sponsor my husband for Canada who is in India. As I am in Canada as a student and have no income, can I still sponsor my husband. I have only done part time jobs so far and recently not working.

Please suggest if anyone can clear my doubt regarding financial evaluation.

Regards,
Jas

Yes you can sponsor your husband.

I sponsored my husband while I was a student and it was no problem. Although it's not required, I wrote a letter with information about how I am supporting myself (scholarship, student loan) and what I can expect to make when I graduate. You may want to consider doing the same thing. We also applied through New Delhi by the way.

Of course you can - I did the same and it was no problem :)

We also did the same thing as ariell; I gave them lots of papers with information about my education, what type of degree it was, print-outs of job adverts of work in my area of study to show I have been job hunting, estimates of how much I can expect to earn, how much I am earning now (with scholarships, grants, work my husband was doing, etc).

So just give them as much information as you can. There's loads of ideas for what to include if you search through these forums :)
