My husband is in Canada on a temporary work Visa that expires Oct. 1-2019. We just got married on July 5th and are applying for spouse sponsorship. His boss is willing to apply for extended work permit. Do we apply for an extended work permit now and after we apply for spouse sponsorship apply for the open work permit? Not sure what he can apply for and when. And his current work permit states he must leave Canada by Oct. 1st. Is he allowed to stay once I mail the applications away?
