hi frndzzz !!!!!!!!

My husband is going to sponsor me soon as he is in canada. I am in london at the moment. We got married in march,2012 but we are in relationship since 2010. We have enough evidence to prove our relation but still we are bit scared of everything in sponsorship process. my husband met a solicitor yesterday and we are trying to get each and everything ready before hand. can anyone plz tell me how long will it take in whole process??? what stages will be included? anythng special to keep in mind? I m totally blank at the moment. Going to apply police clearance soon.

thanks in advance

Hi,

an outland sponsorship application has two stages. First the approval of sponsor by Mississauga which currently takes 91 days, see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp and then the processing of the application by the visa office in your country where processing times vary.

In London, 80% of cases have been processed by the time of 7 months, see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-spouses.asp#europe

Yes - get the medicals done before submitting the application.

they will send the results to your VO (London it seems), and they give you a sheet to include in your application. You send your file (complete) to Mississauga, and once the first part ( sponsorship approval) is done, your file goes to London. There the VO matches the medical results ( received directly from the DMP) to your file.

the process is very detailed, and the best you can do is to print out all the application forms, the guidelines etc, and read the first post by Leon on this forum and start from there. Do piece by piece, and it will come together after a while.

Good luck,
Sweden

Hi Frndz!

M back again after sorting out all my papers. I have sent my papers to my husband in canada. Medical, Chest-Xrays and other formalities are done. Now our solicitor is saying that its better to file the case from india instead of london bcz most of her cases are done within 1 month after Intial assessment process. I am bit worried again bcz on the system online it is showing that processing time from india is 9 months and from london it is 8 months. If anyone have any idea then plz suggest....... thanks in advance

Karam

Your solicitor could be right and India could be faster. I have heard that London takes longer than average if you are a foreigner in the UK.

Thanks Leon!

Now my solicitor has filed the case in Canadian enbassy in London, UK. Let see how long will it take :( I thought it will be faster but from ur reply seems it takes longer than expected. No worries bcz I trying to concentrate on my work rather than thinking of visa all time.

Hiii...

We have applied for spouse sponsership in Oct, 2012 and Now We have received an email stating that My file is forwarded to London (canadian Embassy) on 29 Nov, 2012 for further processing. Does anyone knw that how long will it take for it? I have checked on CIC website and it is showing 9 months but many people have got visa before 9 months so I am bit confused about what to expect next :(. Plz reply if someone has received the visa before before 9 months.

thanks

Like it says on the CIC website, 9 months is the time it takes to process 80% of applications. You have no way of knowing if your application will be in the fastest 10% or slowest 10% so just sit back and hope for the best.
