Spouse Sponsorship Application taking too long

Hi everyone!

I just want to ask if anyone can tell me if it's okay to apply for a visitor visa while waiting for our spouse sponsorship application to get approved? It's just that I'm here in the Philippines now and my husband (Canadian citizen) wants me to go over there in Canada already even if it means temporary (for now). Would it be okay for me to apply for the visitor visa? or would it affect our Spouse Sponsorship Application if i do so?
