Hello everyone,

I REALLY NEED SOME HELP/ADVICE HERE. PLEASE HELP!
I have been rolling in bed at night because of some doubts I have, that I have already looked for answers here. So I am a little bit on the edge trying not only to find a solution, but also someone that has already experienced a similar experience. In order to do this as clear as possible, my doubts/concerns are in bold.

I arrived in Canada on 29th August, 2017 under a SX-1 visa (Student exempt of study permit). I am a Brazilian Citizen
My husband (Canadian Citizen) and I married on September 30th, 2017, and since then we were putting all the documents together in order to send it to IRCC, as we did on 7th of December for PR + OWP.
So this is my first doubt: Since then, I have been trying to link my application in the website daily, following all the tutorials I have been reading here, but the site comes back with no results. Did anyone link an application using the option Name + date of birth, in the website?
This situation leads to another doubt of mine that is: Because we did not receive any information from them so far, and I am trying to link using only my personal info (We do not have an application number). Should I wait for them to mail me the UCI number/Application number and try to link again? Or should I just keep on trying like that?

Considering I do not know anything about the application we are getting worried about my status in Canada, mainly because I am going to be under my visa up to February 28th, 2018.
In my previous understanding I would not have to worry, because I have already send the application including the OWP and I would just have to hear back from them to confirm my implied status and everything would be okay. But, here it comes my next question my worry is that, I have only two weeks to make a decision of asking for a visa extension, according to the 30 day period that you have to follow. I do not know if I can extend it with my visa class - SX-1. Does anyone have experience with that extension? Do I really need to extend my visa?

My final concern is that I realized by reading some questions here that there was a misunderstand of ours regarding the OWP fee I would have to pay (I paid only the holder fee - $100 dollars). And based on other people`s experience in some forums I read here, they will return the application and I will have to send it again with the correct fee. And here comes my final concern: What does it happen if by the time I send the application back I do not have my Visa status valid anymore? I mean, what if I have to send the application back in the day after my visa expire? Would they still understand I`m under implied status because I send the application before in 2017?

Thank you very very very very much already!
You guys are already helping me a lot by having this forum.

Hi

It's been barely a month since you submitted your app, so they probably haven't even looked at it yet. Give it some time.

The 30 days is a suggestion, not a requirement. You can apply for a visitor extension up until your status expires.

As you didn't send the correct fee, the OWP app will be returned. If your visitor status has expired by then and you haven't applied for an extension, you will be out of status. You need to apply for a visitor extension in February to make sure that you maintain your status.

Hello,
Thank you very much for this fast reply!!!

So, the thing about applying for a visa extension is that I'm not sure if I should apply for an extension as a visitor, considering my current SX-1 visa/EtA. What I hear from other people's experience is that, if I apply for a visa extension, in the wrong way and they refuse it, I'd have to leave the country, so I don't want to apply to the wrong extension and miss my whole PR application, you see?
One more thing, would it be possible to let them know I did not send the OWP fee, so I would avoid the package from returning?

Thank you very much!

A visa is just a stamp in your passport that lets you board a commercial carrier to travel to Canada. It has nothing to do with status in Canada. You are a visitor and need to apply for a visitor extension. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...on-change-conditions-extend-stay-visitor.html

You can pay the missing fee and send in the receipt but there is no way to really make sure that it will be attached to your app. Expect the OWP app to be returned.
