hi,

Just wanted to know if my spouse has Canada PR then after how many months i can get Canada PR if i apply for canada pr after marriage? I am currently working full tym in India.

Thanks

It looks like you have tried for many years to immigrate to Canada. If your marriage is determined to be genuine it will be around a year to get PR. If Canada has concerns about your marriage you will be refused.

I haven’t tried for canada visa after 2013 where my study visa was refused and i never tried again. My marriage is genuine and my spouse is getting pr in dec.

Can i go with a work permit first and then apply for pr in canada?

Is that possible?

It's possible - but very unlikely.

To get a work permit, you need to secure a job offer from an employer in Canada and that employer needs to obtain an approved LMIA. It's generally next to impossible to find an employer willing to go through this process.

Not that much impossible that you are trying to say. My wife is going to get work permit for me where she is working currently.

Wait, first let me get the visa and thrn i will post here. I think I’ll get it around March or so.

Thanks

If they hired her with an employer-specific work permit (the process you would have to go through, where they do a Labor Market Impact Assessment to assure the government that you're not taking a job that could be done by a Canadian citizen or PR), then you're correct, it's not that impossible. But if she was hired after she became a permanent resident, her employer is less likely to be able to (or want to) offer you a position. I wouldnt necessarily get your hopes up yet. I would venture to say that most Canadian employers are unwilling to hire foreign (non-resident) workers because of the extra work and restrictions that go into hiring one. Scylla was correct when she said it is next to impossible to find an employer willing to get you a work permit.

The sponsorship process is still probably your best option once you are married.
