Hi,

I have been granted a Young Professional visa and already have an offer to work as civil engineer (NOC type A). I have read that my spouse can apply for an open work permit based on this as I will have a skilled occupation under the right NOC (0, A or B).

Our plan is travelling together (She will do as tourist, already submitted an eTA), and once I start working there she will apply for her OWP as probably she will have to attach some of my first payslips.

Could you please clarify if I´m wrong about any of this? I would like to have everything planned before our departure.

Thank you,

Yes - your spouse can apply for an OWP provided you have a NOC A, B or 0 job. You'll want to wait until you have three payslips to include with the OWP application before you apply.

Thanks Scylia,

Do you know about any special documentation that she will need to submit regarding the OWP? Does any of you have an idea about how long does it take to apply for an OWP inland?
