Hi, I was on an open work permit, and my application for a spousal open work permit extension was recently refused (on February 10, 2025). I had submitted the application in October 2024. Has anyone had a similar experience, and are there any trackers to get status updates on re-applications?

When did SOWP expire? Spouse has stopped working if it has. What did you show that you had a job? When does WP expire?

My Initial SOWP expired on November 2024,.After refusal, now i have re applied for SOWP on March 16,2025

Also i stopped working from the date on which i got refusal - Feb 10,2025.Currently i am waiting for the decision from IRCC on my re-application ( March 16,2025).

Earlier when we apply for my SOWP,as a primary applicant she dosnt have a Full time job,it was a part time job.

Currently, my wife is working as a Personal Support Worker (NOC 33102) in a long-term care facility. According to her employment letter, it is a regular part-time position, but she is consistently working more than 30 hours per week. We have submitted all the supporting documents with the application, including the employment letter, job description, bank statements, and two consecutive pay stubs. Do you think this is sufficient?

So when you reapplied does she have a job that is eligible for you to get SOWP.

You will have to wait and see. PSW is a different NOC (44101) so as long as the job responsibilities match 33102 then you should be approved. However as mentioned processing is over 200 days right now.

Do we have any options to track the application or speed up the process?
