Hi just wondering can we extend my spouse's Visa as a contractor position?

Me: International student VISA expires Nov 2021 (I have just graduate and will apply PGWP.)
Spouse: Openwork permit expires Nov 2021
In order to extend the spouse's visa, the last 3 times pay stubs are required to extend.
Actually, I am still struggling with finding a job, so I am thinking to work in a part-time or contractor position.
As long as skilled worker, part-time position is accepted. But, how about a contractor position? such as 3 months contractor
Is there any requirement to make a contract?
If someone knows this issue, please let me know!
